How pricing tiers work, and how to define what's actually in the box.
What a plan is
A plan is a pricing tier your customers subscribe to: Basic, Standard, Premium, or whatever names fit your business. Each plan is one flat monthly price, it does not change based on which dishes end up in the box on a given day.
Every plan has:
- Name and description, shown to customers on the signup page.
- Meal times: which of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner it covers.
- Duration, in number of deliveries (not calendar days). A 30-delivery plan takes longer to finish for a customer who only wants tiffins 5 days a week than for one who wants all 7.
- Price, the flat monthly amount.
What's in the box
Click into a plan and use What's in the box to set exactly which menu items go into each meal time, and how many of each. This is what the kitchen prep board and delivery labels actually read from, so a plan with nothing configured for a shift will show up empty on the prep sheet for that shift.
You can set this up per plan. A Basic plan might get 4 rotis, rice, and one sabzi at lunch and dinner. A Premium plan might add breakfast, a bigger roti count, and a dessert on top.
Extras stay separate
Plans only cover what is bundled in at no extra charge. If a customer wants something beyond that, an Extra item (see Menu & Extras) gets added to their subscription for an additional price, on top of the plan. This happens on the customer's own form, either the one you fill out for them or the one they fill out themselves on the portal.
Custom, no-plan subscriptions
The add customer form has a "Custom (set manually)" option for setting a price, meal times, and end date by hand, without picking an existing plan. It is currently shown but disabled, since kitchen prep math is moving to the per-plan "what's in the box" bundles above, and a custom subscription has no bundle for that to read from. Create a real plan instead, even a one-customer plan works fine.
